I have already had a couple of people email me their experiences during the Cradle of Life game at Wayne's World and I would like some more to help me create the DVD.
Being one person on the field, I miss a lot of the game. These forums are not for belly-aching. You can get more of a response with those type posts on Warpig.com.
I know it is a pain to register with yet another site (I seem to average five a day) but please take the time and share your experiences with the rest of us. |

My team reffed that game and we had a blast. What an exciting game. Although Dutch really seemed to have it wrapped up well from the German perspective.
My allied generals were continually assassinated and blown apart. And even the brave attempts at attacking the german base ended in futility as Dutch had the gauntlet that reflected base attacks back on to the attackers.
Heck of a game though. The tankinators really dominate out there in their tank. I don't think any other crew can out do them! |

|

I was talking to one group who said that the North Base was the hardest to defend.
I couldn't agree because it always seems the South Base is being overrun.
Which base is easier to hold or attack?
Which is the best way to attack the North base? This is the main advantage of the Northbase to me. There seems to be only three avenues of attack with the back road being the most successful and the resurrection road the least.
Attacking over the sinkhole also usually ends in disaster.
What about area X? I have yet to witness an attack from there. _________________ Thomas (Ragtop) Fletcher

Allright. So you want me to get on the soap box. Here goes, in my opinion....
The South base is terrible. It is the hardest to defend, secure, and hold for many many reasons. The defense positions are very limited. There are few bunkers in the back of the base. That is the easiest avenue for a large attack to succeed. The only positions to defend are from the base, and even those are limited.
You also have to contend with securing the front. The tree line and village make that difficult. Dead players constantly have to cross the front of the base to exit the field. That is the only route unless you go up the road next to the base.
A base security team out front has a very limited field of view. The trees cover the corner so you cannot see around it. Also, there are many bunkers in front of the base which help an attack. And they are not designed with defense in mind.
At night it is another story as well. Countless attacks and assassinations have come from the village. I find the best method to cover those is to regularly have a 5 or 6 man squad do a sweep of the village at 20 minute intervals. |

The North Base...
The North base if my favorite. Not just because it is easily defendable, but I like the land layout around it as well. Don't get me wrong though, it can be beaten.
The advantages the North has over the South are many. One, it has multiple bunkers outside the rear of the base from which to defend (or attack). Both towers of the base offer a clear field of fire in nearly every direction. Something that the South base lacks.
The North base also has a large "pill box" attached to it that provides good protections against an attack. The front is also set up much easier to guard the doorway, as there is only one road that goes by it and not very much traffic.
At night with proper lighting, this base can be nearly impregnable to all but the sneakiest of spies.
The weakness...
The best avenue of attack is to take the west road from the South base up to the airplane. From here you drop off the road and get into the brush. If you are in the North base facing the rear, that puts you on the high upper right side. There is alot of dense foliage there, and that avoids the bunkers positioned in the rear. You need to be quiet to do this though as you will be near the insertion road. |
